My research interests primarily focus on foraging behaviour of seabirds: their relationship with marine environment, consequences on reproductive performance and implications for life history strategy. I am currently involved in research on the foraging behaviour of seabirds breeding in the Antarctic, Bering Sea, and Japanese islands, using recently developed bird-borne data loggers (GPS data logger, digital camera logger, accelerometer, geolocators etc). Bird-borne data loggers are powerful tools to study at-sea behaviour of seabirds, providing detailed information about the interactions between seabirds and the surrounding environment.
