I am a visual ecologist, working on the eyes and visual capabilities of animals ranging from bees or butterflies to seabirds. I am trying to develop methods that can be used to transferred from the lab to the field, to better understand how the animals we study are adapted to their habitat, foraging strategies and general ecology. Regarding seabirds, we study petrels (and plan to study other procellariiforms) using behavioural, optical and anatomical methods.
