I am Professor at Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), Ecuador where I teach Evolutionary Ecology. Currently I am also Associate Science Director of the USFQ-UNC Galapagos Science Center (GSC).
I have conducted research on seabirds at Isla de la Plata and Isla Santa Clara, mainland Ecuador. However, most of my field work was conducted on the Galapagos Islands where I studied seabirds since 1980. My B.Sc. and Doctoral thesis research were "The ecology and behavior of the Great frigatebirds in the Galapagos Islands" and 'The ecology and evolution of sequential polyandry in Galapagos cormorants".
