My work is focused on understanding how seabirds obtain their energetic resources, allocate them to different activities throughout their life circle, how this allocation is affected by the environment, and what are the fitness consequences of this allocation. In particular, I am interested in understanding how human energy subsidies (e.g., fishing discards and garbage) affect gulls' behavior, life histories, ecological interactions, demography, and population dynamics.
