Currently, I am an ecology doctoral student at UC Davis. I am interested in how seabirds use their sense of smell to interact with their environment. Using analytical techniques, I am investigating how seabirds and other marine top predators recycle limiting nutrients to phytoplankton. Another project I work on examines the causes of plastic debris ingestion by marine wildlife. I am also interested in the causes and consequences of coloniality in seabirds. More broadly, I am interested in sensory ecology, marine conservation, and applying analytical instrumentation to address ecological questions.
