I am a population ecologist very interested in seabirds and in the way their populations respond to environmental changes in a spatial context. Part of my work focuses on prospecting behaviour, dispersal and breeding habitat selection by seabirds. Another part of my work focuses on host-parasite interactions between seabirds and ticks, and on the evolutionary ecology and eco-epidemiology of their immune responses. Among our recent findings, it appears that the temporal persistence of maternal antibodies in nestlings of the Cory's shearwater is much longer than previously known for any bird species; such a result has basic, but also applied implications, notably in case an infectious disease is affecting nestlings of such species.
