I am an ecophysiologist and behavioral ecologist studying how environmental effects (especially social effects) and gene x environment effects shape individual phenotype and fitness. My work on penguins addresses links between the colonial environment, individual stress responses, and energetics. I also study how sexual and social ornaments may communicate information on individual quality.
