Does it sound exciting to cruise the Abacos for a week documenting shearwaters, tropicbirds, terns, plovers, oystercatchers, and rails?
From April 23-May 21, Conservian, The Bahamas National Trust, and BirdsCaribbean are operating a coastal bird cruise. Tickets are available at cost ($1250 per week including food and a bunk on the boat) in one-week stints. During each week, a section of the Northern Bahamas will be surveyed by teams with a beautiful sailing research vessel as base-camp. Participants will help with surveys by walking beaches and counting birds. During the last 2 weeks, we will be banding seabirds as part of the trip.
Details including an itinerary can be found at www.coastalbird.org.
